In my first co-op experience (Spring 23), I worked as a student intern in the Signage & Graphics department for the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. During this co-op, I was responsible for various projects that incorporated environmental graphic design, interior design, and product design for Ohio State University’s healthcare services. The below projects and materials highlight the work produced for various design departments during this experience.
OSU Applied Environmental Graphic Design 3D Renders
Across materials requested by the interior design department, I applied OSU environmental branding artwork to numerous 3D Renders using Adobe Photoshop to accurate measurements. These renders helped to visualize proposed artwork plans for developing Ohio State University medical facilities and campuses.
East Hospital Wayfinding Map | Signage Proposal
To properly assess outdated signage and new wayfinding installations, I developed a variety of PDF presentations to showcase this information consistently and efficiently. For the Ohio State East Hospital, I organized photographs of exterior wayfinding/parking directionals and their position on the respective map in a presentation to assess signage that needed to be updated to match the current wayfinding practices. Following this presentation, I developed proposals for updated exterior directionals to replace the outdated signage.
New Replacement Signage Design
Providing work requested for contractors, I produced new artwork and healthcare accessibility signage for replacement and temporary usage across The Ohio State University’s medical campuses.
OSUWMC Interior & Exterior Directional Signage Projects
Throughout this co-op, I worked on various interior and exterior directional signage replacements to be installed across the many Ohio State University medical campuses and facilities. Throughout the directional projects, I brought into consideration the typographic hierarchy and legibility disciplines I developed throughout my coursework.
