During the summer semester [2023], I was tasked with redesigning the brand presence of the Columbus Arts Festival! While developing a new identity for the festival, I sought to reflect the dynamic individualism and passion for performance brought through the visual and experiential artwork celebrated across the Columbus Arts Festival.
Festival History / Design Values
The summertime tradition of the Columbus Arts Festival encourages Ohioans and the Columbus community to connect with the dynamic world of arts and entertainment through live performances, exceptional visual art vendors, and local food. For my festival identity, I sought ways to incorporate the human expression of art and the celebration of the medium in my brand identity.
Opportunity Proposal / Original Logo
OPPORTUNITY PROPOSAL: I plan to address the color, rhythm, and balance found in the current identity system. By addressing these areas, I hope to represent the dynamic individualism and passion for performance, and visual and experiential artwork celebrated across the Columbus Arts Festival.
Mood Board Development
Across my mood board, I have collected a series of images representing different ideas and concepts for my sketch and vector directions. Ideas I seek to incorporate into my process work from my mood boards include abstract forms and elements, visual representations of community and varied human forms, vibrant colors, and dynamic and fluid vintage-inspired typefaces.

Design System
During my exploration of color in my proposed identity, I explored various purple, teal, and orange-yellow color choices for the wordmark. In consideration of these color choices, I planned to further develop my identity to feel energetic and inviting through the use of color.
